Image of ''Mount Fuji'' etching

Mount Fuji
16" x 12"
etching

The first of a series of four-color hand-pulled aquatint etchings. Hokusai gave us 36 views of Mount Fuji. I present but one favorite - in an edition of 99. The poem reads: "Deeply engrave in your mind the serenity of the color of the mountain covered with maple trees."

"Serigraph" is a fancy name for a silkscreen. This serigraph was made from over 140 separate silkscreens, one for each color. That's what I get for mixing my own paints.

Although I create etchings, serigraphs and lithographs, only one completed etching and one completed serigraph are pictured here. I also have an etching in progress based on this painting.
